The Giorgio Cini Foundation Institute of Art History has a rich Photo Library containing a total of around 730,000 photographs, including 330,000 mounted on large index cards, and 65,000 negatives. The Photo Library is available to scholars and researchers, partly available for direct consultation, partly divided into thirty photographic funds. Among private photographic archives, some deserve to be mentioned: the archives once belonging to Giuseppe Fiocco and Rodolfo Pallucchini and the photographs donated in 1966 by the Berenson Foundation, previously in the Villa I Tatti, Florence.

The Photo Library is mainly dedicated to Veneto Art: a whole topographic section is dedicated to Veneto and Venice, followed by section focusing on other Italian Regions and foreign museums, together with works of art belonging to private collections in Italy and abroad. Over the years, more photographs continued to be added thanks to planned campaigns focused on specific studies and publications, art exhibitions on graphic works by Veneto masters organised by the Institute annually.

Furthermore, in order to guarantee the development and wider use of the material, several digital images, accompanied by a description of the work of art reproduced, are already accessible though a specific oline catalogue.
